LOVE WHERE YOU LIVE

I moved to Newbury Park from Los Angeles County in 2011. I had just moved back in with my parents after finishing cosmetology school. I always tell people how much of a culture shock it was. 

I was about 22, a young mom, and looking for a career change. 

After enrolling my son into school and taking on a role as a supervisor at a major convenience store, I quickly learned how lucky I was to be living in a town that felt, as if it was moving at a much slower pace.
